Commercial construction involves the designing, building, and renovation of commercial structures.   1. Pre-Construction

This is the part when contractors must obtain the building permits, insurance, bids from vendors, establish a construction team, and procure the safety of all the building materials and equipment required to begin the construction.

First, it’s important to prepare the site by implementing drainage to the building code, arranging power, water, and sanitation, removing vegetation, etc. Then the contractor must proceed with the foundation, framing, roofing, siding, HVAC, interior, exterior, and landscaping. 

  1. Post-Construction

After the construction is complete, the contractor and client must walk through the structure and create a list of unsatisfactory components that require further attention before completing the project. After this, a building official can perform the final inspection to determine if it’s ready.
